Model Download: Lindsey Wixson
The 20 year old American supermodel Lindsey Wixson was first discovered by Steven Meisel 5 years ago. Since then she has conquered the fashion world by being a catwalk favourite for labels like Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. Lindsey has had campaigns for Miu Miu, Mulberry, and Chanel Makeup to name a few.
Growing up in Kansas, Wixson was often teased for the gap in her teeth and for being tall and slim, but since becoming a model she has gained a lot of confidence in herself. She had a custom made Jason Wu dress made for her for prom, which I am extremely jealous of!
Miss Wixson's mother agency is Vision LA, however Lindsey also belongs to more than 5 other modelling agencies, including Elite Copenhagen and The Society Management NYC. Lindsey has recently been storming her way through magazine covers, appearing on Numero Tokyo October 2014, Interview Germany September 2014 and Vogue Russia September 2014. The quirky model has also landed the Ochirly Fall 2014 advert campaign as well as the Trussardi F/W14 campaign. The unique beauty and amazing personality that Lindsey possesses has resulted in a strong presence in the modelling world.
So by the power of Instagram (and some bravery to approach the supermodel online) I got through to Lindsey! As soon as she replied, admittedly, I fangirled like crazy. Then I got to the point and thanked her for taking the time to get back to a passionate, newby journalist. So without further ado:
Q: Who is your biggest style inspiration?
A: Jane Fonda.
Q: What's one thing you always have with you?
A: Bentonite clay.
Q: What's the best modelling experience you've had so far?
A: All my experiences are great!
The short and sweet answers remind me of how real and kind Lindsey is. Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll be able to interview Miss Wixson properly. But until then, I'm grateful that Lindsey Wixson actually replied to me!
