Mary Katrantzou's autumn/winter 2014 collection features embellishment in geometric patterns and shapes on the gladiator-type dresses. “Symbols can be so beautiful, sometimes.” said Kurt Vonnegut. This collections symbolic motifs were inspired by many everyday objects, like the stop sign. It was also influenced by colour and uniform, remixed with delicate lace, and embroidery. The luxurious collection included pleated skirts, halter necks and long sleeves The rich colours of blue and red compliment the nude clutch purses.

The dress shown is my favourite from the collection, I love the contrast between the shapes and patterns. I also like the shape of the dress, the gladiator vibe contrasts with the feminine appearance too. Very edgy.
